New PhD student on board!

We are very pleased to announce that the PhD candidate Ana Sofia Isidoro, supported by Aqua-CLIMADAPT,  was granted a PhD studentship in the "2022 Call for PhD Research Studentships" of the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT I.P.). The title of her winning proposal is: "Modulation of marine fish microbiome and metabolism using functional feeds enriched with macroalgae: an eco-innovative strategy towards climate change adaptation ".

Passionate for research and particularly oriented towards ecological (climate change and environmental pollution) and social concerns (world hunger and undernourishment), Sofia's greatest dream is to "to leave a mark in science and society, and to contribute to the creation of a better, fairer and more sustainable world".

Welcome on board, Sofia! May your PhD journey be smooth and filled with great accomplishments.

Aqua-CLIMADAPT's Kick-off Meeting

On February 10, 2022, partners and consultants gathered for Project's Kick-off Meeting. The main purpose of this first meeting was to allow the team members to get to know each other. Unfortunately, the meeting had to be held via zoom, given the Covid restrictions and limitations of the moment. In the next meeting, hopefully, we will have the chance to meet each other in person and to have some time for networking and social events.

Regardless of the physical distance, this Kick-off Meeting was extremelly fruitful, as we had the opportunity to start designing the experimental setup for the Project's first live animal trial. The most critical steps were discussed and a research strategy was drawn. Let's see where the first data batch will lead us to!
